FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION (FAQ)
Q: Why there are Catholic Priests who can solemnize marriage on a beach, garden, forest, rooftop of a building, overpass, underpass or even in skyways or flyovers despite the prohibition of the Roman Catholic Church?
A: We all know that the Roman Catholic Church is headed by His Holiness, the Pope. He is the successor of Peter, the apostle who was called by Jesus as the "rock" where His church will be built. Jesus commanded likewise all the other apostles to "spread the gospel" to all kindred, to all tongues, to all nations", right? So wherever these apostles went, they have followers. They have believers of Jesus. They built their respective churches so they can worship the saviour they know to be "Jesus". So since they all know that the Pope in Vatican is the successor of Peter, they all sustain the authority and "oneness" with the Pope. This is in consonance with the gospel's instruction to have just "One faith, One Church & One baptism". So whatever sacrament these other Churches do, they are all recognized by the "big boss" (the Pope) which is the Roman Catholic Church.
So if you found a "Catholic Church" (din daw sila) but refused to sustain or don't recognize the authority of His Holiness in Rome (they wouldn't even mention it during your mass), then they are not among the genuine Catholic Church established by the apostles. They are the rebellious priests who broke away from the Roman Catholic Church for various personal reasons, which you have all studied in your World History or Philippine History class.
Here's the amazing part: these rebel priests, also "rebelled" against each other. So they have all been divided. They all scattered and established their respective Churches without recognizing the Pope, or even their own (rebel) superiors. They then recognized themselves as the "Pope" of their own "Catholic Church". Some of them even looked like exactly the "Pope".
What does Jesus said when you are all divided?
YOU ARE NOT OF ME (Matthew 12:30, John 15:5).
They were not recognized by Jesus, not even His Church.
So how many genuine Catholics "one with the Pope" do we really have on earth?

Fortunately, we just happened to be one of them.
We are the Servant Sons of St. Thomas, the "doubting Thomas", but we are not covered by the prohibition of the Roman Catholic Church to solemnize marriages outdoors because we have to stand on our own raising our own funds to sustain the needs of our Church and our brethren. We are the Eastern Catholic Church, the eastern part of the Roman Catholics.
...and the entire Catholic Church recognizes all our Sacraments i.e. marriage, birth, confirmation, etc. performed by us, the Eastern Catholic Church.
